Who I am and how I can help you
My name is Laurențiu Tudorache. I am a lawyer with the Ilfov Bar and a mediator authorized by the Romanian Mediation Council (authorization no. 1371/25.01.2014). I offer you legal consultancy, court representation and mediation services in Bucharest (districts 1–6) and Ilfov County, with a focus on family law, the protective measures introduced by Law 140/2022, involuntary psychiatric commitment, labour law and enforcement proceedings.
About mediation
Mediation is a non-legal profession introduced into Romanian legislation in 2006 by Law 192/2006. Its purpose is to shorten the time required to settle disputes and to avoid the high costs of court proceedings.

A defendant with mental disorders received psychotropic treatment in pre-trial detention for 4 months on the basis of an expired medical letter. Relying on Articles 3 and 5 of the Convention, I obtained the replacement of pre-trial detention with judicial supervision.

Mediation is an amicable way of resolving conflicts, regulated in Romania by Law 192/2006. An authorized and neutral mediator facilitates dialogue between the parties so they can reach a mutually advantageous agreement, without imposing a solution.
Mediation is usually significantly faster and less expensive than litigation. The fee is set at the first meeting, depending on complexity; the information session is part of the procedure.
Yes. The agreement signed before the mediator can be authenticated by a notary, attested by a lawyer or confirmed by the court, thereby acquiring the legal force of an enforceable title. In practice, it carries the same weight as a final court judgment.
Mediation in civil, family (divorce, custody, partition), commercial, labour, succession, enforcement, consumer-protection, property and neighbourhood matters, as well as in certain criminal cases.
On average, mediation is completed in 1–3 sessions, each lasting 1–3 hours. The process usually takes a few weeks, compared with the months or years required in court.
Yes. Everything discussed during mediation is protected by professional secrecy. The mediator cannot be heard as a witness regarding the content of the mediation.
